Lent Week 7

Go on outside to read this story. Take your shoes off. Take a moment, first to smell the air, hear your surroundings, and feel a breeze. Now, imagine that it's early in the morning, and you are walking behind the three women in this story, and witnessing the events that unfold. Why do you think they respond as they did? How might your own reaction be similar or different than the three witnesses? Now, pray with this text using an ancient prayer practice called, "Lectio Divina".

On Easter Morning, before the business of the day, listen to this song, which is a prayer to have Jesus, and Jesus alone. May our sould be united in our common desires, and focus of the season ahead of us.

An explination and invitation to pray with a piece of art is offered at this link. I love the reflection and explination provided. It opens my senses, helps me become more aware of someones powerful interpretation of the resurrection of Jesus.

Celebrate Easter as a Season and not just a day. This prayer activity is for the whole family, and will help keep the good news at the center of our lives. Christians celebrate Easter until Pentecost, and more than that, we celebrate Easter every Sunday of the year in our Sunday worship services. Click here to learn more about this practice.

Simple Prayer (for all ages)

Dear God

Thank you for giving us such good gifts.

For our families who love us.

For yummy food and tasty drink.

For so many different beautiful animals.

For parks with tall trees and soft grass.

For birds that fly among the clouds.

For seas and streams that are fun to paddle in. And thank you for your son Jesus.

We like to read about him in the bible.

He taught his disciples about you.

He healed people who were sick.

He walked on water,

And even died and came back to life.

Help us to remember all the things he did

And celebrate him on this special day.

Amen.
